If I am being honest, you make love so easy and uncomplicated, just by being you. And I wouldn't have had the world without you. So today, I just wanted to let you know that I love you. I always have and I always will.

And I know that since then, life has sometimes robbed you of that smile with its disappointments, heartbreaks and busyness.

But I'll let you in on a little secret - every time life does that, I'm always thinking of ways to get that smile back on your face, to remind you how much I love you.

I have tried poetry (Song of Songs), I have tried songs (Psalms), I have even tried washing your feet (John 13).

But with the busyness of life, all these things usually pass you by. And most of the time, you forget just how much I love you.

That is why, today, I decided to write you a letter.

A letter that contains what I feel about you, how I think about you and the ways in which I want to love you.

I know that love isn't always easy to navigate and sometimes, it's confusing and painful. But know that things are different with Me.

And I know that since then, life has sometimes robbed you of that smile with its disappointments, heartbreaks and busyness.

But I'll let you in on a little secret - every time life does that, I'm always thinking of ways to get that smile back on your face, to remind you how much I love you.

Remember that boy who gave you a pink rose on Valentine's Day when you were little? You were overjoyed by the gesture and talked about it for days. And up 'till today, pink roses remain one of your favourite flowers.

Oh! And what about the boy who sketched a portrait of you for your birthday? You were so touched you framed the photo up in your room and didn't take it down for months.

I remember the way you smiled receiving all the love and all the little gifts. I've always loved seeing you smile like that, it was one of the most beautiful smiles I had ever seen.

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that Christmas is one of my favourite seasons. It's that one season that almost the whole world celebrates - shopping malls are decked out in lights, Michael Bublé is playing...

My favourite part about Christmas is probably the Christmas parties - the warm and fuzzy feeling I get from being around the people I love, the satisfaction I feel from stuffing myself with good food and the joy I get from all the laughing.

And of course, the presents under the tree!!

This year had me realise that beyond the presents my friends brought, it was their very presence in my life and the love they've poured into my life that were gifts to me.
